FREE Public Dance Classes (Beginner)

Xpress Free Public Dance Classes offers free dance training to any student attending a Public Elementary/Intermediate/High School. These classes will cover 4 basic genres Hip Hop/Breaking, Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, throughout the school year.. These classes are Multi-level which allow the dancers to sharpen and grow at their own pace. Students will have opportunity to experiment, express, choreograph, and perform individually and in groups. This training is particularly for knowledge and technical growth and a great way to gain confidence. There will be performance opportunities. Please note if your attendance is not consistent you will be excluded form affected performance routines.

-Please note that consistency is the key to accomplishing your goals!

Hip Hop Attire:

-Comfortable clothes you can move/stretch freely in

-Clean bottom shoes/sneakers

Ballet /Jazz Attire:

-Athletic fit clothes so teacher can see/correct body movement

-Ballet/Jazz shoes

Keiki Ballet/Jazz (part 2)

$100

This is a continuation of Keiki Ballet/Jazz (part 1)

This class will use numbers, letters, and other basic learning concepts to teach movements, balance, and flexibility. Ballet and Jazz terms will be partnered with visuals and phrases they can relate to from school or daily life at home and with Ohana. This class is low stress and will motivate them to participate and grow in confidence quickly.

-Keiki tutus/princess dresses/ballet skirts are welcome!!!

(please do not wear anything that will restrict movement in class)

 

Intermediate Ballet/Jazz

$100

This Class takes Intermediate Ballet Training to the next level!

This class will start with ballet and then transition into Jazz allowing the dancer to strenghten dance positions/balance/skills from a turned out and turned in foundation. This class will also balance smooth with sharp, slow with fast, and experiment with timing in order to accomplish strength in musicality. These dancers are encouraged to contiue their ballet training outside of class for maximum results.

Keiki Tap/Hip Hop (part 2)

$100

This is a continuation of Keiki Tap/Hip Hop (part 1)

-This class opens up imagination and encourages experimentation. We will be working with beats, patterns, and levels. The first half of class educates the dancers in how to operate their tap shoes as musical instruments, testing balance and coordination. The second half gets their bodies bouncing and rolling to fun rhythms and beats motivating them to explore different ways to move their muscles.

-street shoes must be clean on bottom and can also be worn for Tap until tap shoes are purchased

(Please do not wear clothing that will restrict their movement in class)

Calendar Jan 8, 2020 at 4 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This is a continuation of Keiki Ballet/Jazz (part 2)

This class will use numbers, letters, and other basic learning concepts to teach movements, balance, and flexibility. Ballet and Jazz terms will be partnered with visuals and phrases they can relate to from school or daily life at home and with Ohana. This class is low stress and will motivate them to participate and grow in confidence quickly.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $25.00, paid every four weeks.

Intermediate Jazz/Pom

Calendar Jan 8, 2020 at 5 pm, runs for 10 weeks

This class is a continuation of Intermediate Ballet/Jazz.

This class will take their foundation of Ballet and Jazz and now put it to the test by learning complicated formations/transitions/tricks to add dimenssion and clean execution to their skills as they flow in and out of individual/group choreography. Dancers are encouraged to bring a notebook and pencil to learn how to write and study complicated choreo/counts. Dancers in this class are encouraged to have outside training in order to have maximum results.

Payment plan available: $50 deposit plus 2 payments of $25.00, paid every four weeks.
